BIOGRAPHICAL REFLECTIONS

Pastor Stephen Michael Smith
Mt. Moriah Baptist Church

Stephen Michael Smith is a native of Mt. Vernon, New York where he received his early education and graduated
from the Mt. Vernon High School in 1977. He relocated to Baltimore, Maryland after high school to continue his
education at Morgan State University, where he was awarded a full athletic scholarship.

He had been employed with Fidelity Engineering Corporation for the past 19 years.

In November 1986, Minister Smith accepted Christ as his personal Savior under the leadership of the late Dr. Lorenzo Graves, Jr., former pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church.

On May 30, 1994, Min. Smith accepted his call into the ministry at the Calvary Baptist Church, under the leadership of
Dr. Haywood A. Robinson, III.

On March 15, 2004, Minister Smith was called to shepherd the Mount Moriah Baptist Church, where he continues to provide leadership and wise counsel as God has instructed him. The Mt. Moriah Baptist Church is Pastor and People
being guided by the hands of the Most High God in times such as these, as we exalt the Lord, edify the Body, and evangelize the Unbeliever. Since Pastor Smith's arrival, various ministries and enhancements have been implemented:

Minister Smith is a graduate of Washington Bible College. God has also allowed Minister Smith to travel across the United States to various seminars, conferences, and speaking engagements, not only to serve God’s people but to further equip himself for His service.

Minister Smith is married to the former Wanda Renee Sharpe, and they are the proud parents of one daughter, Tanea Renee Singleton, a graduate of Towson University, proud in-laws of Rubin Singleton, III, and grandparents of Rubin Singleton, IV.

Minister Smith would like for everyone to remember to:
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not
unto thy own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall
direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
